Do You Ever Feel Like Puking?

My clients are incredibly brave. Maybe it’s because they have a great trust in me and know I come from a place of love, acceptance and no judgment, AND because I can often relate to where they are.

When they are hesitating, procrastinating, making excuses, trying too long to design the perfect logo, it’s often because growth is happening, and growth can be scary, and can make you downright uncomfortable and stop you in your tracks.

What’s the best way to know that you need to work through something with your coach and that fear has you in its grip?

Listen to your body and emotions.

Feeling anxious, anger, or crabby is a sign. So is a jittery feeling in the pit of your stomach, adrenaline running right under the skin of your arms, shaky hands and just plain wanting to puke.

Fear comes in all sorts of forms: fear of success, failure, being seen, or feeling stupid.

Even the most successful of people have fears they must conquer.  Fear has often been called “false evidence appearing real.” Unless you work through it, it will hold you back.

A  great tool I share with my clients is a book that explains all the fears, and walks you step by step to rid them.

ACHIEVINGYOUR DREAMS WITHOUT FEAR:

HOW TO OVERCOME OBSTACLES AND JOIN THE CONFIDENCE CLUB

This book will move you from a state of fear and caution to one of confidence so you can move forward to achieve your dreams. It’s a tool you can use over and over when you are in that next stage of growth.

Normally priced at $24.95, I want to share it with you for 50% off. Just enter the code word “EASE” when you check out and until the end of April, this is yours for just $12.47! FIND IT HERE

In this book you will learn:

  • How to identify if your fears are real
  • Why you’re choosing to be fearful
  • What causes your fear and how to change your belief in it
  • Strategies to overcome specific fears including: fear of the unknown, fear of failure, fear of change, fear of lack of support, and fear of the worst case scenario.

This book also includes, as a bonus, powerful fear crushing exercises!

I’d love to hear your stories about busting through fear. What’s something you’ve done even though it was scary?

Quieting your Inner Critic: How to Replace that Chatter Positive Self-Talk

I recently surveyed over 2,000 thousand of my clients and over 50% of them admitted to being challenged with negative self talk. You might have a great idea, but defeat yourself before beginning. Do you feel like you are always talking yourself out of success?

One of my favorite quotes is by Henry Ford, “whether you think you can or think you cannot, either way you are right”. Our mind is a powerful barometer to our own success, and if we let it get the best of us, it will talk us out of anything that is a stretch, or uncomfortable, stifling growth and detouring success.

Maybe you start to set goals for yourself, but then you suddenly have nagging thoughts about how you aren’t up to the task or how you simply aren’t qualified to carry it through?

If you have ever experienced either situation, you need to change the way you respond to your inner critic, and yes, we all have one.  Instead of buying into this primitive mechanism that is designed to keep you safe, you can learn to use positive self-talk to counter the negativity and overcome nearly all anxious thoughts – priceless!

Setting Goals and Sticking to Them with Positive Self-Talk

Most times you are initially filled with excitement when you first set goals for yourself, but then these are followed by self-doubt and self-defeating thoughts that stop you in your tracks before you even get started.

Ready to start that new weight loss program? You talk yourself into why it won’t work.

Thinking about joining a new chamber or network group? It’s might be only a matter of minutes before there’s a reason NOT to follow up with your idea, whether it’s too expensive or too far away.

It can be difficult to make the most of your life when you are constantly talking yourself out of being a success.  It can be frustrating and discouraging to have these thoughts constantly plaguing you. Many of us, in fact, don’t even realize we have them! All we know is that we don’t have the confidence to stick to our plans and reach our goals.

But there’s another way!

Positive self-talk is an effective way to set goals and ensure that you stick to them, even if you have never been able to do this before.  The way this works is that you decide what goal is important to you, and then you plan the logistics of how you are going to attain this goal.  When self-doubt starts kicking in, you will respond with affirmations that prove your success without surrendering to the negative pressure. Since you’re reading this article, it’s clear that you’re no quitter and you’re certainly not a failure, so start believing in yourself!

Re-Programming Your Mind

Affirmations are essentially positive statements that re-program your mind for the positive. The moment you have a self-defeating thought you’d be able to counter the negative with a motivating statement. An example of a positive affirmation is: “I am worthy of great success,” or “I see myself making a difference by joining that group.”  What this does is replace negativity with thoughts that will help you move toward your goals instead of further away from them.

Positive self-talk is easier to implement than you might think. You may not be aware of the severity of the negative dialogue currently within your mind. However, once you begin with positive self-talk, you will suddenly realize that you are self-sabotaging the goals you set for yourself from the minute that you make them. This process can open your eyes to exactly how much this inner conversation has been interfering with your life. You’ll feel hopeful that you can now set goals and surpass them.

Through positive self-talk you will be able easily set long and short-term goals for yourself. And when you use affirmations, you’ll have accessible tools to help you push yourself further than ever before. What’s a time you chose to quiet your inner critic and were glad you did?

Marketing 101: Strategic Planning Makes a Difference

Why do entrepreneurs struggle getting clients? Simple. They aren’t marketing their business in an effective way.

What’s missing from most business owner’s marketing? An effective strategy that works around their business model. Don’t have a business model? Uh- oh. More about that later.

Meanwhile, I’m sharing a 7 Step Foundation of Success. Pay particular attention to # 7, and if you could use help in that area, be sure to tune into my complimentary teleclass on Wed July 21st.

7 FOUNDATIONAL STEPS TO SUCCESS:
Vision: You must have a clearly defined business model as a foundation for a marketing strategy. Without a defined model of your products, services, and how they channel into one another, you won’t be able to step back and create an effective marketing plan.
Message: Being able to define and articulate the value of your business, its personality, your brand promise, benefits and outcomes is essential to being able to effectively utilize the various marketing avenues.
Strategy:  Defining your target customers, where you find them, what problems they have that they will pay you to solve, and what’s the best avenue to find them are a few of the areas that go into strategy development.
Consistent Action: People will buy from you if they know about you and you’re offering a clear solution to their problem. Consistency in a marketing plan communicates to your prospects on a regulate basis about your services and promotes you as the problem solver.
System: Implementing systems for your marketing plan is easy once you know the options, resources and tricks to making your plan easy and organized.
Relationships:   You need a team that consists of sales people (past clients singing your praises) strategic partners (others willing to promote your business) and resources that get you over the hurdles of  tech and admin challenges. Creating a dream team is well worth the effort that goes into it.
Mindset: The biggest hurdle my clients have is thinking like a successful entrepreneur. It takes a certain mindset to put yourself out there on a consistent basis. Believing in your own value and worth is the key to your success.
For help in any one of these areas, please feel free to contact me.
To your success,
